"The photos don't do this lovely home justice - it is spacious and lovingly presented by the owners who met us to show us around and provide the keys. It was great to come back to the lovely pool after a hot day of exploring Noto, Ragusa and Modica. The living area is large and open and there are several dining areas to chose from - we mostly ate outside on the verandah which wraps around two walls of the house. We lived outdoors mainly under the shade of the covered verandah. Make sure you bring bug spray, though! The two main bedrooms upstairs are good size and the family bathroom upstairs is also roomy and well stocked with towels. The 3rd bedroom downstairs is a double bed and a smaller room but was fine for us for our 8 night stay. The garden is beautifully done, with lots of grass areas for children to play and the 250+ year old olive trees in the backyard add an amazing sense of history. The setting is a quiet rural area, about 3km from the town of Rosolini which has supermarkets, bakeries etc and does observe siesta (1pm - 4pm) so you will need to work around that if you want to explore the town. While the area around Modica is prettier, we found Villa Oliva a great base from which to explore this corner of Sicily and the perfect spot to enjoy a glass of wine and plate of antipasto at the end of the day."

"A really stunning property. Our hosts were exceptionally welcoming and provided a really generous welcome basket. They made arrival and departure very straightforward and gave us plenty of information about the local area, shopping and beaches. The beautiful garden with lovely pool attracted lots of wonderful wildlife so we mainly lived out on the well furnished verandah enjoying the view. The second kitchen with pizza oven was one of the highlights of the holiday as we all made our own pizzas and had a couple of very enjoyable social evenings. The villa provides an excellent base for exploring this area of Sicily and travel is very straightforward to all the Baroque towns. The only downside to us was not having booked a fortnight - seven days was not long enough."
